First, let me take the time to wish all mothers a very happy & blessed Mother’s Day!

My challenges with my current pregnancy began when I was about 4-5 months gestation. My first diagnosis was gestational diabetes. Naturally I became anxious and nervous, however my Ob/Gyn was very thorough and detailed so we began the process of monitoring my sugar levels 4 times a day everyday and I was assigned weekly office visits until further notice.

I’m not sure if this is the case for most pregnant women that have these similar conditions, however for me it seems like all of a sudden things started happening rapidly. For example, as I was approaching the 30 weeks, my sugar levels had finally leveled off to under 90 after fasting and under 120 for the other times of the day. Then I happened to have an afternoon visit with my doctor instead of my typical morning visit. My blood pressure reading was extremely elevated. So, my doctor insisted that I begin monitoring it at home twice a day. Then she scheduled to see me two weeks later. Over the course of the two weeks, my readings were all over the place. One day I had a reading of 165/88 and because of that I was sent straight to the hospital for observation.

After a couple of hours, the doctor informed me that my new temporary residency for the next three weeks would be at the hospital and also instead of trying to reach 37 weeks, the deadline is now 34 weeks.

That’s all for this episode. Hopefully you’ll tune in for the continuation tomorrow.

Blessings, Love & Light! 💜
