Day 8

Today has been a major challenge for me. This terrorist of mine amplified her terrorizing to the max! I’ll laugh about her antics tomorrow but right now I’m hiding in my closet writing this, lol.

PARENTING IS NOT FOR THE WEAK!

I grew up with parents married to each other under one roof. I have older siblings but they were all grown by the time I arrived. So my mom raised 5 kids before I was born. Needless to say, I understand her a lot more now than I did as I was growing up. Even though I’m a single mother, I don’t believe I have it any harder or easier than my mom. In my opinion, parenting is relative. One person’s situation may seem like a cake walk in someone else’s perspective. My single parent journey has been quite adventurous. Now I’m not for one second trying to imply that it’s been a cake walk or that I don’t have tough days. I’m having one today, remember? I have a big village though and the village is crucial to parenting.

My village is definitely heaven sent. When I need a break or even when my kids need a break, my village provides whatever we need to push through to another day. Of course, the rare cry in the shower helps a whole lot too. Especially for people like me that tend to bottle up everything or compartmentalize what we deem to be minor things and never get back to it.

Anyways, how was your day today? Good? Tough? Let’s chat about it!
